Associations Collaborate

Several human resources associations exist across the province of Alberta.  HRIA is the provincial association responsible for certifying HR professionals under the national guidelines established by the Canadian Council of Human Resources Associations.  In addition to HRIA, there are a number of associations with a long history of providing services to local area members in communities across the province.  Under this new collaboration service model, the local interests of HR practitioners will be serviced and represented by the organizations listed below through a new shared service model called Collaboration.

The Collaboration partnership was created in order to enhance the services we provide to our collective membership. Collaboration enables us to build better services and stronger HR networks and Members benefit from a single harmonized fee allowing joint membership with all associations.

In overview, the benefits of Collaboration include:

  • Enhanced services for members
  • A United voice for the human resources profession in Alberta
  • Enhanced recognition and credibility for the profession
  • Harmonized fees
  • Alignment with national standards
  • Maximized resources
  • Business efficiency and centralized operations

The human resources profession is growing in importance and influence. Now, more than ever, HR practitioners benefit from strong associations who work in concert to provide development and networking opportunities, advocate professionalism and represent the profession within government, industry, not-for-profits and educational institutions.

History of Collaboration

The driving force behind this initiative is the recognition that the Human Resources profession is becoming more complex in a fast-paced work environment. We are always finding new ways to enhance our profession and give a greater voice to all Alberta Human Resources practitioners.
