CHRP renewal extensions may be granted for special circumstances:

a) Short Term Extensions

Based on written requests, the HRIA may grant an extension of 30 days (maximum). Please email your request to phanlon@hria.ca  prior to your original expiry date. If your request is approved, you will be required to pay a Late Fee of $ 50.00 + GST, in addition to the Recertification Fee.

b) Leaves of absence

Members who are granted maternity or disability leave from their workplace during a given recertification interval are entitled to apply for and receive an extension of that recertification interval for any length of time up to the lesser of the total length of the leave granted or one (1) year.

Applications for extension must be accompanied by written confirmation from the workplace of the type and term of leave granted. In the case of self-employed members, confirmation from a physician is required in lieu of an employer confirmation. Please email your request to phanlon@hria.ca .
