The National Knowledge Exam ® (NKE) consists of 150 multiple choice questions. Each question lists four possible answers, only one of which is correct. The exam is based on academic knowledge of major human resources functions. The passing grade is different for each exam session.
CCHRA reserves the right to change the exam at any time as part of a continuous exam improvement program. Recognizing the desire for exam writers to know what the exam is like, CCHRA will give as much advance notice as possible.
Starting in 2013, national exams are offered every June and November. You must register for the National Knowledge Exam ® (NKE) and the National Professional Practice Assessment ® (NPPA) separately. After successfully passing the NKE, you can then register for the NPPA or submit an Experience Validation Assessment (after January 1, 2013) to fulfill your experience requirement for the CHRP designation.
Please note: Once you have passed the NKE, you have up to 5 years to pass the NPPA or complete the Experience Validation Assessment.
