The Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) recognizes achievement and capability. The designation signifies that an individual has achieved and continues to actively demonstrate mastery of the HR body of knowledge. Through a national examination and assessment process, each CHRP designate must demonstrate the core competencies relevant to the HR profession. Certification is an essential tool for maintaining high performance standards.
The designation assures employers, clients and other HR professionals that a CHRP has committed to abiding by a professional code of ethics, a breach of which will result in disciplinary action including the possible removal of the designation.
CHRPs are required to complete ongoing professional development in order to qualify for re-certification every three years; the process inherently provides a mechanism to ensure that CHRPs keep their knowledge and skills current in the human resources profession.
The CHRP designation can enhance your career opportunities and compensation potential. An increasing number of HR positions require or prefer that the successful candidate holds or is working towards obtaining the CHRP designation. This is particularly evident for senior HR positions.
The CHRP designation is recognized throughout Canada and portable to all provinces and territories.
