HRIA is the certifying body for human resources professionals within the province of Alberta. As a certifying body we serve a dual purpose; first, to ensure our certified members have met and maintain the national standards for the CHRP designation; and second, to provide services to those members.
We offer exam preparation workshops to assist our members pursuing the CHRP. We also provide a variety of continuing professional development opportunities that assist all members in expanding their knowledge and support CHRPs in meeting their ongoing recertification requirement. Ongoing recertification is important because it ensures that CHRPs maintain current knowledge in the field of human resources, and that the public can trust the mark of a true professional when they hire a CHRP.
HRIA contributes to strengthening and promoting the profession of human resources through establishing:
As with other professional bodies, decisions about individuals are made by various committees, sub-committees and panels comprised of one’s peers, CHRPs who serve as volunteers in various capacities. Association staff support the work of these committees, sub-committees and panels by providing administrative and policy support. HRIA is also the single point of contact for members of HRIA and members of the public with respect to registration matters.
