• The Human Resources Institute of Alberta (HRIA) is the source for human resources leadership and expertise for Alberta Businesses
• Our mission is to strengthen and promote the profession of human resources
• Established in Alberta in 1984, the HRIA has grown to be the leading professional association for human resources throughout the province
• The HRIA is a non-profit organization representing more than 5,000 members in Alberta
• Is the only organization to grant the Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP)
• designation in Alberta
• Serves as a spokesperson on human resources issues in Alberta and represents the membership on issues at the provincial, national and international level
• The HRIA is governed by a board of directors consisting of both elected and appointed members
• The Board is comprised of representatives of member associations in Alberta and meets four to six times a year
• The HRIA is a founding member of the Canadian Council of Human Resources Associations (CCHRA), representing more than 30,000 HR professionals across Canada
