Human Resource Management Association of Lethbridge (HRMAL)

Founded in 1975, the purpose of the Human Resources Management Association of Lethbridge is to:

1. Foster proficiency in Human Resources by providing a vehicle for professional networking
2. Provide an opportunity to further the professional development of members in the form of regular meetings, seminars and awareness of available workshops
3. Provide leadership in the development of recognized education programs in all related disciplines 
4. Liaise with the Community to advance and promote the HR profession

Effective January 2010, the Human Resources Management Association of Lethbridge will be operating under a new model of collaboration in conjunction with the Human Resources Institute of Alberta (HRIA) and other regional associations across the province.  As a member organization serving on the HRIA Board of Directors, HRMAL will be working cooperatively with the HRIA to provides opportunities for human resources practitioners in Southern Alberta to participate in networking and professional development events that will advance their knowledge in the profession of human resources.

Local events and member needs such as professional development and networking will be determined by the HRMAL Board and delivered in cooperation with HRIA.  As the professional voice of human resources practitioners in Alberta, HRIA promotes and encourages maintenance of professional standards in the field of Human Resources management and sets out the standard and process for certification as a Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP).

Under this new collaboration model, HRMAL membership will be administered by HRIA in accordance with the National Standards as regulated by Canadian Council of Human Resources Association.  A nominal annual membership fee will be based on your category of membership.
