Award of Excellence

Awarded to an HRIA member (individual, group or team) that play key roles in driving the performance and reputation of an organization, that are catalysts for organization-wide change, and who serve as trusted advisors on organizational strategy.

Nomination criteria

  • Strategic - Aligns the HR function with corporate strategic goals and adds value to meet organizational needs.
  • Innovative - Develops innovative and ethical solutions to new or ongoing organizational challenges.
  • Leadership - Is a leader in executing organizational strategy that directly impacts the organization’s performance and prominence.  Plays a key role as an effective partner in developing and executing organizational strategy with direct and measurable impact on the bottom-line.
  • Workforce Planning Results - Guides the organization through HR strategies for both current and future labour market conditions.  Exemplifies workforce readiness and people strategy efforts aimed at anticipating and meeting long-term business needs through the development of employee skills.
  • Results Orientation- - The accomplishment(s) demonstrates significant and measurable results for a period of time as appropriate for the accomplishment.

Eligibility Criteria

  • HRIA member and CHRP designate (if the nomination is for a group, at least one of the senior team members must meet this criteria).
  • Work in Alberta or work for/be an organization with established operations in Alberta.
  • Consent to the publication of both name and photo in connection with the HRIA Celebrating Excellence Awards Program.
